Easter Garden Centerpiece

Easter is getting closer. I have been plotting and planning to make this Easter garden craft for months now. I have been planning for this since I first spotted bunnies in my local thrift store. When I first thought about doing this project I wanted to make this garden centerpiece in one of those really cute bread bowls that are incredibly popular right now. However, when I visited my local thrift store in search of some bread bowls I actually found something even better. My house is modern farmhouse decor so when I saw these vintage style dishes I knew they would be perfect. Here is what you need for this project 1. A dish/bowl/basket of your choice 2. A small-medium sized bunny painted in the color of your choice 3. Florals ( I got mine from the dollar store 4. Foam board or foam squares 5. 2 bags of Moss balls, 1 floral moss, 1 reindeer moss and 1 Spanish moss all from the dollar store. 6. Faux grapes and paint 7. Glue gun and glue I made this two ways because I had 2 dishes and ple

DIY spring carrots 4 ways

These super cute rustic farmhouse carrots have been everywhere for the Easter and spring season. and I have seen people on YouTube making these carrots in so many ways with so many different materials. I made mine 4 different ways because I was hoping that people would be able to make these with just the items that they have on hand. Keep reading because I saved the best for last and you will never be able to guess how I made one of these carrots. 1. Wooden carrots . First let’s make these cute wooden carrots. For the most part all you need to make these carrots is some sort of tapered wooden stick or wooden dowel, something sharp to cut notches or to cut the wood. ( sometimes you can find small handsaws at the dollar store.) glue gun and something to use for the grass. ( I’ve seen people use raffia but I just used greenery from the dollar store). Finally, you will need paint. Step 1. Gather your wood. I found these wooden legs in the clearance section of hobby lobby for just $1 each.

DIY moss bunnies

I loved the moss bunny decor that became pretty popular last year and it’s also a big hit this year. So when I planned out my Easter decor this year I knew that I wanted to include them. I made these two moss bunnies for less than $5 with items from the thrift store and the dollar store. What you will need 1. Bags of moss. ( I got mine from the dollar store I think I only used one bag but the $5 cost of this project includes two bags of moss) 2. Bunnies. ( I used a bunny silhouette that I found at the dollar store and a $2 bunny from the thrift store) 3. Glue gun and glue Once you have your materials you are ready to go. In my case before I started I scraped the glitter off of the green bunny and gave it a coat of white paint to have neutral base. I also scrapped the eyes off the blue bunny and removed his bow to use for another project. Step one ☝🏽 Apply the hot glue to the surface of the bunny. Work in small sections. Step 2 Take some moss and press it onto the hot glue. be very c

How to: DIY luxury Easter bunny decor for less than $15

Easter is so close yet so far away. However, I have already got bunnies on the brain. Last year I realized that I didn’t have any Easter decorations and at the last minute I just picked up random things from the dollar store. This year I was determined to get a head start on Easter so that I could make all my decorations myself while also keeping it classy. so I found some sad bunnies at the thrift store and gave them new life. I knew I wanted to do something with them. I paid less than $10 for the three bunnies below. The tallest bunny is about 12” for reference. Ok so here’s how you do it. Step one ☝🏽 Find some really sad looking Easter bunnies at your local thrift store. Step 2 Give the Easter bunnies a really good cleaning. I used Dawn dish soap and water because the Easter bunnies that I found were ceramic. Step 3 Next you want to get the spray paint of your choice and spray them. The spray paint cost me $4 but I know there are places that sell cheaper spray paint. If you want to

How to : Neutral Valentine’s Day wreath!!

Lately for the holidays I have been obsessed with monochromatic decor as well as neutral decor. so when making Valentine’s Day decorations this year I still wanted a bit of the traditional red but a little bit more toned down. So of course I turned to Pinterest and YouTube first for some inspiration. I saw so many people doing really cute things with the dollar tree heart wreath and I knew I had to get had to get it. but I still don’t know what to do with it I had some cotton rope that I had gotten from another local dollar store and when I started playing with the two I ended up with this beautiful Handwoven heart wreath. For just two whole dollars you can make this yourself. What you will need 1. A dollar tree heart wreath 2. Cotton rope ( for a different look, you can use the same technique with ribbon, long strips of fabric or really thick yarn) 3. Glue gun Step one ☝🏽 Start anywhere on the wreath. I started at the bottom of the heart. Take a piece of rope, ribbon, or yarn

Welcome to my Peace of Refuge

So, I started a Blog. I guess... the only way that I really know how to do this is to be honest. I am no expert at blogging and social media really isn’t my thing. But I know what I do like. I like interior design. I like decorating for the holidays, creating my own holiday decorations, and creating DIY projects around my house. I also enjoy crafting and shopping for home decor. All these things are more than just things that I like to do, they are my refuge and my source of peace when I feel stressed. I’m a super introvert and I just don’t know if I’m ready for YouTube yet. But I want to share all the beautiful things that I have created. I want to inspire other people to create beautiful things of their own. So I’m creating this blog. And I hope someone reads it. I hope I’m able to inspire many people and I hope that my content helps many other people to create their own peace and refuge in their homes. 🌺
